What a South African quote should include
- Who it is from and who it is for: your business name and contact details, and the client's name.
- A quote number and date: so both of you can refer to it later.
- Itemised lines: a description, quantity and unit price for each item, with materials and labour kept apart.
- VAT, if you are registered: the total you quote should include 15% VAT, and your VAT number should appear on the document. If you are not registered, leave VAT off entirely.
- A valid-until period: prices move, so say how long yours holds.
- Payment terms: a deposit, when the balance is due, and what is excluded.

Questions
Is this quote generator really free?
Yes. There is no signup and no limit. It runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to Zuvo to build the quote.
Does a South African quote need to show VAT?
Only if you are VAT-registered. Registered businesses should quote a total that includes 15% VAT. If you are not registered, leave VAT off. Registration is compulsory once taxable turnover passes R2.3 million in 12 months, and voluntary from R120,000.
How do I save the quote as a PDF?
Choose Print or save as PDF, then pick Save as PDF as the printer in the dialog that opens. You get a PDF file to email to your client.
Want the quote written from one sentence?
Zuvo drafts the quote from a plain-English description, adds your VAT and logo, sends it as a PDF or a WhatsApp link, and lets the client accept online. There is a free plan.
